The Campeche tree takes its name from the region of Campeche in Mexico where it is widely distributed. A purple pigment is extracted from its bark, used in the past to dye paper and fabrics. To obtain good pastes and a uniform color of the foliage, it is recommended to always use it in combination with neutral or dye powders.
| HOW TO USE: We do not recommend using pure Logwood powder because it does not allow you to obtain very intense color results. Added to Lawsonia powder (Red Henna No. 2 or No. 3) it is useful for toning down bright orange reflections, while combined with Cinnamon Brown it gives warm and bright shades. On the contrary, to take advantage of its cold and purple soul, we recommend preparing the Logwood paste separately with the addition of sodium bicarbonate (2 tablespoons per 100 g of powder). It can then be combined, before application, with the paste prepared with other powders (e.g. Cherry Red, Chocolate Brown or Mahogany Purple). |
